Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore) (13:30:15):

I congratulate the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation on its sixteenth annual Rugby Long Lunch, which I attended, to raise much needed funds for breast cancer awareness and treatment. That one event raised an astonishing $400,000, which will go towards funding Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation's breast fellowships at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. The Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation fellows are educated about high‑volume reconstruction and complex lumpectomy procedures, which offer a chance of good aesthetic outcomes after an already harrowing diagnosis and traumatic treatment for breast cancer. That huge amount of money was raised because of the incredible generosity of all the guests, sponsors and supporters, particularly principal sponsor Richard Crookes Constructions—a sponsor for 16 consecutive years. Thank you to the talented speakers throughout the day. I particularly thank president of the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation Lynne Crookes, OAM, vice-president Renae Lopez, director of breast services Dr Cindy Mak, the whole committee, and the volunteers who helped put this fantastic event together.
