Monte Celebrates 145 Years Since Founding

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—Last week Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College in my electorate of North Shore, celebrated the 145th anniversary of the founding of Monte on Mercy Day. Mercy Day is often celebrated by the students and staff as a day to be grateful for the gifts of kindness that inspire them each day, and as a day of being grateful for the friendships formed amongst peers. Congratulations to the following students who were recipients of the Catherine McAuley Mercy Award; Abigail Camilleri from Year 7, Indiana Nguyen-Sawyers from year 8, Sophie De Kock from year 9, Ciera Gedeon from year 10, and Lingling Qin from year 11. Congratulations to these outstanding students on their contributions to the school community. They were also able to farewell their Year 12's from formal classes with a guard of honour throughout the campus. This is a long-standing tradition and tribute to a cohort of young women who have led the college with determined leadership. Congratulations to Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College on reaching and celebrating this important milestone in the school's history.
