Sydney Writers' Festival Welcomes Ceridwen Dovey

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—Today I would like to congratulate Wollstonecraft resident Ceridwen Dovey for the release of her fourth novel titled Life After Truth, which has received global praise. Ceridwen appeared at the Sydney Writers' Festival last month to talk about her book and celebrate the work of other authors. The book, which is about modern manners and murder at her alma mater Harvard University, is yet another addition to her large collection of published works that have received national and international recognition. The South-African born author draws inspiration from her childhood, as well as her studies in social anthropology and creative writing, to write her stories. The Sydney Writers' Festival plays a pivotal part in bringing the arts industry back to life after the COVID-19 pandemic brought it to a halt last year. It is important that the hard work of local authors such as Ceridwen can be recognised and showcased to the public in events like these. Well done to Ceridwen on her recent novel and for her involvement in the Sydney Writers' Festival.
