Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College Girls Excel in Sport

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—I want to recognise the recent sporting achievements of the women at Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College. A number of students from year 7 to year 12 have excelled across a range of sports including rugby 7s, netball, football and cricket. Many students were selected to represent NSW sports teams to play at the All Schools championships later this year. I congratulate the junior representative football team who won the junior championships and will go on to play in the knockout. A great effort was also seen from the open team who made it all the way to the semi-finals. Well done to Monte Sailing Team who combined with Wenona School for winning two races in the state championships. The young team performed exceptionally well. Congratulations to all Monte girls who performed in the basketball, swimming and cross country state championships. They came out with some fantastic results and took out the overall champion school in cross country. It is great to see young women excelling in sport in my local area. Good luck to those competing later this year.
