Local Olympic Athletes

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—I wish to congratulate the extraordinary work of all the Olympic and Paralympic athletes who competed in Tokyo, and particularly our local athletes from my electorate of North Shore. I commend their sheer grit and determination that got them to the Olympics this year through all the challenges they endured over the past 18 months. The talents of these athletes and all of the months and years of preparation is truly incredible. In particular, I would like to acknowledge the outstanding performances from three local athletes; Rowena Meredith, who won a Bronze medal in the Rowing for the Women's Quadruple Sculls, and Matilda Kearns and Hannah Buckling, who were in the Women's Water Polo team that placed 5th. Congratulations on these outstanding results. I know that many in our community and everyone across New South Wales and Australia were incredibly proud to watch you compete in the Tokyo Olympics. I want to extend my sincerest congratulations to all our athletes, the coaching and sporting staff, and their families. You all made us all so incredibly proud.
