Vale Jimmy Saad

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—With great sadness, I speak on the death of Jimmy Saad, a much loved local businessman, who at 80 died of COVID-19 in August this year. Jimmy had worked at Milsons Point Shoe Repairs and Key Cutting in Kirribilli for 58 years since 1963. Jimmy was hard working and had a passion for boot making, having learned the trade from his grandfather. He loved his job and had strong connections to all his customers, and always had a funny story to tell. Tributes flowed from customers after hearing of the tragic news. Locals described Jimmy as a cheerful and funny man that knew how to make people smile. In Jimmy's extensive career as a cobbler, he repaired shoes for locals and did repairs on the shoes of the famous Luna Park clowns and even former Prime Minister John Howard's shoes. I extend my sincerest condolences to Jimmy's wife Lametta and their children and grandchildren.
