Northern Beaches Outrigger Canoe Club Secures Cbp2021 Funds

—Speaker I congratulate the Northern Beaches Outrigger Canoe Club on its successful application to secure funds through the Community Building Partnership program 2021. The funding will allow the club to purchase a brand new lightweight OC6 Outrigger Canoe. The purchase of a new OC6 outrigger canoe will assist the club with improvement in training, team building, and participation in regatta competitions and 'come and try' canoeing days. I commend the club's continued efforts in encouraging participation within the community and healthy competition among members. The Northern Beaches Outrigger Canoe club was formed in 1999 and has expanded significantly from its original five members to a much larger base with people travelling from all over Sydney to train. The club currently trains at multiple locations, including Middle Harbour in my electorate of North Shore. Congratulations to President Grant Hughes and the club members for securing this well-deserved funding. It is great to see community sport getting started again and participation high with the community and members eager to benefit from all that our harbour offers.
