Redlands Year 6 Debating Team Wins the National Independent Schools Virtual Debating Competition

—Speaker I want to congratulate the Redlands Junior School Year 6 debating team on their recent success. I acknowledged them last year for reaching the semi-finals of the National Independent Schools Virtual Debating Competition, and they have since gone on to win the entire competition. The Primary School Division featured 32 teams from around the country so every single one of the students in the team should be extremely proud of this accomplishment. It is amazing to see students from local schools performing so well on a national level, and I extend my congratulations to all of the teachers and parents involved in supporting the year 6 debating team throughout the competition. Debating skills have lifelong benefits and I hope the students continue to engage with debating and public speaking in the future whether it is competitively or personally. I am sure they will all go on to do amazing things and I wish them well as they begin their high school journeys this year.
