The North Sydney Art Prize showcases some of the best contemporary art from across Australia. The Coal Loader in Waverton in my electorate has been transformed to provide a unique backdrop for visitors to experience a broad range of artworks—from immersive, site‑specific installations within the underground chambers and tunnels to sculptures dotted throughout the surrounding park lands. I congratulate this year's winners: Alyson Bell, who won the Major Open Award for her work ; Stevie Fieldsend, who won the Award for Sculpture; Saskia Everingham, who won the Site Specific Award; Ryan Andrew Lee, who won the Emerging Artist Award; Ariella Friend, who won the Work with Paper Award; and Sylvia Griffin, who won the Award for Drawing for her work . On the weekend I joined with those winners to congratulate them on their work, which explores sustainability and the impact of climate change on our local community and across Australia. I congratulate all artists who have pieces in this year's exhibit and the sponsors: North Sydney Council, Australian Catholic University, Primrose Park Art & Craft Centre, and the Royal Art Society of NSW.
