Taronga Goes Wild for Vivid

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—Speaker after a two-year hiatus due to COVID, I recently had the pleasure of joining Taronga Zoo and its supporters for a special VIVID preview of Wild Lights at Taronga. Wild Lights is an immersive experience where guests can explore the zoo after dark on an illuminated night walk, all whilst connecting with wildlife and conservation. This year's theme showcased the concept of a shared planet, titled "Where Nature Shines", connecting wildlife of the land, of the sky, and of the sea. I want to acknowledge Simon Duffy, Executive Director of Taronga Zoo and Anna Town, Head of Business Development Services at Cushman and Wakefield. With a strong focus on accessibility, Wild Lights featured three, never seen before, purpose-built, inclusive installations contributed by Cushman and Wakefield and I thank them for their support. There were an array of fascinating light displays showcasing a variety of native and exotic animals, from lions and gorillas to the humble brush turkey which I know would have been a favourite of many Mosman residents. Congratulations Taronga for creating another successful experience, and a special acknowledgement to all the staff at Taronga and the fantastic work they do in conservation.
