Wild Lights at Taronga Zoo

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore) (16:01:54):

After a two‑year hiatus due to COVID, I recently had the pleasure of joining with supporters of Taronga Zoo for a special Vivid Sydney preview of Wild Lights at Taronga Zoo. Wild Lights is an immersive and inspiring experience where guests can explore the zoo after dark on an illuminated night walk whilst connecting with wildlife and conservation. This year's theme, "Where nature shines", showcases a shared planet, connecting the wildlife of the land, sky and sea. I acknowledge Simon Duffy, the executive director of Taronga Zoo, and Anna Town, head of business development services at Cushman & Wakefield. With a strong focus on accessibility, Wild Lights featured three never‑before‑seen, purpose‑built, inclusive installations contributed by Cushman & Wakefield. I thank the company for its support in ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all. There is an array of fascinating light displays, including native and exotic animals, from lions and gorillas to the humble brush turkey—which was a favourite of many residents of the lower North Shore. Congratulations to Taronga Zoo on creating another successful experience for this year's Vivid festival.
