Cammeraygal High School Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—Speaker I want to acknowledge the 10th anniversary of Cammeraygal High School in Crows Nest. Cammeraygal High originally opened its doors to a Year 7 cohort of just 100 children. Now, ten years later, Cammeraygal accommodates over 880 students and more than 100 teaching, support and administration staff across two campuses. Today, Cammeraygal adopts a holistic approach when it comes to teaching, and encourages the personal growth and enrichment of its students. Current school captain Sydney Atkinson has said that Cammeraygal High's youth is one of its greatest advantages. The school is known for its forward-thinking approach to education including the adoption of new technologies and its focus on student wellbeing. Pratham Gupta, Cammeraygal High School's first ever school captain has explained that unlike some high schools, the age of Cammeraygal has fostered a culture of closeness and comradery between the year groups. I want to acknowledge all the hard work principal Kathy Melky has done in helping establish such a flourishing and reputable school. congratulate Cammeraygal on a fantastic first decade, and look forward to many more decades to come.
