North Shore Christmas Card Competition

Each year I have the pleasure of inviting local primary schools to participate in the North Shore Christmas card competition. After thoughtful deliberation with my office staff and my children as little helpers, we selected the winning artwork that is to be featured on my Christmas cards and sent out to members of our community. This year's theme was "Aussie Christmas", and it was wonderful to see how the children interpret what our Christmas looks like. I am delighted to congratulate this year's winner, Mila from Middle Harbour Public School. Mila's artwork captured an incredibly detailed Christmas scene, featuring Santa in board shorts riding a wave surrounded by a kangaroo, a koala, a platypus, a cockatoo, a reindeer and more. It was a fantastic representation of an Aussie Christmas. A special mention goes to our three highly commended artworks by Anna from Neutral Bay Public School, Isla from Mosman Public School and Irene from North Sydney Demonstration School. I congratulate all of our local students who took part. The talent and creativity of our local students is always so impressive, and a highlight of my year. I wish them all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
