I congratulate Dr Anne Ireland, our well-deserving North Shore Woman of the Year 2025. Following community nominations, I was delighted to recognise Dr Ireland's admirable dedication to education and advocacy for young women, and her commitment to strengthening our local community. As the principal of two leading girls colleges for over 18 years, Dr Ireland has fostered an environment of empowerment, academic excellence and personal growth. Beyond her leadership in education, Dr Ireland has contributed to the broader community through her published works, including  and , which reflect her commitment to holistic wellbeing for young people outside of their academic achievements. People like Dr Ireland are the lifeblood of our community. She has been involved in several local initiatives, participating in events such as the Balmoral Burn and the Balmoral Swim for Cancer. She is also an active member of the North Shore parish council and the Independent Girls' Schools Alliance. Now retired, she continues to actively involve herself in the lower North Shore community. I again congratulate Dr Ireland on that incredible achievement.
