Recognising Serena Geddes

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—I am proud to recognise the outstanding contribution of Serena Geddes, a celebrated illustrator whose creative spirit has left an indelible mark on our community. With a background in animation and more than 70 published works to her name, Serena's art bridges generations—bringing joy, wonder, and connection to young readers and their families across Australia and beyond. A North Sydney local, Serena brings her talent home not only through her publications but also through her community engagement. Her creative wellness workshops provide a nurturing environment where adults can reconnect with their artistic instincts, fostering personal growth and emotional well-being. By encouraging imagination and self‑expression, Serena plays a vital role in enriching the cultural and emotional fabric of our area. From her early work with Walt Disney Studios to her collaborations with icons like Pat Cummins, Serena has built a career defined by passion, perseverance, and a heartfelt desire to uplift others through art. Her generosity, warmth, and boundless creativity reflect the best of our community values. I commend Serena Geddes for her remarkable achievements and her continuing impact on both the artistic world and the North Sydney community.
