Celebrating Local Talent: Remy Faint Named Archibald Prize Finalist

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—I want to celebrate the outstanding achievement of former Mosman High School student, Remy Faint, who has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious 2025 Archibald Prize. Remy's portrait, titled Ramesh (with mask), depicts renowned Sri Lankan–born Australian artist Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, a fellow finalist in this year's Wynne Prize. Remy and Ramesh share a longstanding friendship and mentorship, with Remy describing their relationship as a meeting of minds where their different life experiences, ages, and cultural backgrounds help them both grow. This recognition places Remy among a distinguished group of artists, selected from an impressive 904 entries, to be showcased at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from 10 May to 17 August 2025. Remy's achievement is a testament to the strength of public education and the nurturing of young talent within our community. I commend Remy for his dedication to his craft.
