Parents for Climate

I recognise the significant contributions of the northern Sydney chapter of Parents for Climate, particularly its initiative of organising a kids' winter clothing swap last weekend to support local families and promote sustainability. Parents for Climate is a grassroots non‑profit organisation that brings together families from all backgrounds to advocate for long-term climate solutions. Its work empowers local communities to take meaningful and practical steps towards sustainability. The kids' clothing swap is a wonderful new community initiative that encourages families to exchange gently used winter clothing, promotes sustainability by reducing waste and supports local families. By keeping quality clothing in circulation, the event helps to reduce landfill and lessens the environmental impact of fast fashion. It also fosters community connection, bringing families together in a shared commitment to protect the planet. Initiatives like this highlight how small, local actions can contribute to broader climate solutions. I commend the dedication of organiser Katherine Davies, a parent from Neutral Bay Public School, and all the volunteers involved with Parents for Climate.
