Queenwood Turns 100: A Legacy Lives on
Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)
—I warmly congratulate Queenwood, its staff, students, parents and wider community on the magnificent occasion of their Centenary this year. For 100 years, Queenwood has stood for academic excellence, compassion, and community spirit. Under the exceptional leadership of Principal Marise McConaghy, Queenwood continues to empower young women with a balanced, inclusive education that prepares them to contribute meaningfully to the world. A highlight of this milestone year was the Centenary Music Concert, Walking Together, which beautifully captured Queenwood's spirit, history and values. With moving performances from Kindergarten to Year 12 students, special guest presenters, and evocative multimedia reflections, the concert was more than an artistic triumph – it was a heartfelt tribute to generations past and a celebration of the vibrant community that defines Queenwood today. This year of celebration includes a host of special events: the Centenary Balmoral Lectures, the School's Birthday, Giving Day, the All Years Reunion, the Violets High Tea, and the Once in a Century Parent Party. The release of Queenwood One Hundred Years will further preserve this legacy for future generations. Congratulations Queenwood – your centenary is a truly proud and inspiring reflection of the school's past, present and future!
