Marist Girls Make History with Title Win In Debut Season

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—Congratulations to the Senior Girls football team of Marist Catholic College North Sydney on their extraordinary debut season – culminating in a thrilling grand final victory to claim the 2025 MCC Senior Girls Football title! This remarkable team, made up entirely of Year 11 students, has not only made history by being the first girls' team to represent Marist since the school became co-educational in 2021, but has done so with courage, teamwork and outstanding sportsmanship. Their undefeated season is testament to the talent and determination of these young women, who have inspired the whole Marist North Sydney community. Special recognition goes to coach Ms Emma Blundell, whose leadership and belief in the girls helped shape their success both on and off the field. To the team: you've shown what is possible when young women are given the opportunity to lead, compete, and thrive. Your achievements have set a high bar and an exciting precedent for future generations at Marist. Once again, congratulations on this historic win – you have made your school and our community immensely proud. I can't wait to see what you accomplish next.
