A Successful Daffodil Day 2025
Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)
—Congratulations to Cancer Council NSW for another successful Daffodil Day on Thursday 21st August. I would like to specifically note the excellent team of Cancer Council NSW volunteers that spent Daffodil Day at Victoria Cross Metro Station in my electorate. The purpose of the annual day is to support people impacted by cancer and give support to cancer research that will save lives. I felt privileged to join the team at Victoria Cross to assist the campaign. It was fantastic to witness the group's enthusiastic fundraising and commitment to eradicating cancer. Many Sydneysiders have been touched by cancer. Some have battled the disease themselves; others have helped a family member or a friend cope during treatment. Cancer Council NSW predicts that more than 16,000 people will die from cancer in NSW in 2025. That's 45 people a day. These frightening statistics show we must do everything we can humanly do to make cancer more treatable.
