New Season Starts for Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron
Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)
—Many congratulations to the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron on the start of the new sailing season, which began on Sunday 14 September. The Kirribilli-based Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron is one of the country's most well-known yacht clubs and offers world class facilities for sailors and non-sailors alike. Everyone in our community is very proud of the club's rich sailing history, including leading the first three Australian challenges for the America's Cup. The club's season was launched with the Commodore's address followed by the commencement of the Parade of Sail. I'm pleased for Club Commodore Russell Taylor and his members for such a successful start to the season. I was very happy to be in attendance for the launch and see so many impressive vessels with crews ready and eager to compete. I was also glad to see so many youngsters at the launch. I'm confident these budding sailors will be the future of the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron.
