Archbishop's Award Winner Sophia Komadina

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—I'm pleased to recognise Sophia Komadina, a Year 12 student who is a pupil within my electorate, for being one of 51 Archbishop Award winners for 2025. The Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College student clearly met the high standards required for the accolade as set out by Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP, including spending time improving the lives of others and setting an example for those around them. Sophia's track record speaks for itself. She has demonstrated her faith through active parish arrangements as an altar server, musician, lector and children's liturgy leader. Sophia has similarly undertaken a great number of liturgical and ceremonial roles at school, including prayer leader, liturgical choir and orchestra, OMG! Youth Leader and capably provides the daily reflections and prayers for the community. She also reflects her values through her participation in social justice services activities, including Project Timor. Both her school and parish should feel very proud that they know this remarkable young woman, and I wish Sophia further success in the future.
