The "pink Ladies" go Above and Beyond

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—The Pink Ladies have done it yet again, this time raising more than $94,000 this year to support patients and staff at Royal North Shore Hospital. The Pink Ladies Shop, cake stalls with items baked from the volunteers themselves and their well-known trolley service were central to the success of the year. The donations raised this year have supported the purchase of a bladder scanner, tonometers, endoscopes, a hoist, a Chester Chest for training, centrifuges, laptops, optometric goggles, and melanoma research, among many other needs. A special note of thanks must go to long-standing Pink Ladies President, Joy Stephen OAM, for both her commitment and dedication to fundraising for the hospital. Joy was appointed to the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2021 for her generous contributions to volunteering, and I think we can all agree that the honour was well deserved. Thank you, Joy and the Pink Ladies, for making a tangible difference to patients at the Royal North Shore Hospital.
