Strong Female Leadership at Cammeraygal High School

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—I recognise Kathy Melky, the dedicated and inspiring Principal of Cammeraygal High School, whose leadership continues to shape a thriving local school community. As a proud woman of Lebanese background, Kathy has often reflected on how she never imagined becoming a school principal. Yet through hard work, resilience, and a deep commitment to public education, she has not only achieved that goal but excelled in it. Kathy leads with strength, compassion, and vision. Under her leadership, Cammeraygal High has become a nurturing and high-achieving environment where both students and staff feel empowered. She champions inclusivity, innovation, and the importance of student voice, ensuring that every young person feels seen, heard, and supported. Kathy's story is one of breaking barriers and redefining expectations. She is a role model for young women in our community, showing that leadership comes in many forms and that diversity in leadership matters. Her recent feature on the cover of the Mosman Daily is a well‑deserved recognition for her contributions. I thank Kathy for her remarkable service to education and for the impact she continues to have on the lives of so many students, and families across our community.
