Balmoral Triathlon

—A huge congratulations to the 30 members of Balmoral Triathlon Club that took part in the World Triathlon Championships in Wollongong, otherwise known as 'Race in the Gong.' The World Triathlon Championship Series is an annual event organised by World Triathlon and has crowned world champions since 2008. These physical fitness enthusiasts have worked tirelessly over the last 12 months and successfully took part in various distances, including sprint, standard and aquabike, in many different age groups. A special mention to Kester McQueen, crowned World Champion in his age group and overall, an incredible achievement. Congratulations to Alex Eason, who placed second in his age group and the second fastest male overall, and Charlotte Hussein, who helped her team secure bronze in the Mixed Team Relay 16‑19 years category. I know the leadership team at the Balmoral Triathlon Club, including President David Fell, Vice President Phil Lynch, Secretary Jodie Osborne, and Treasurer Seamus Fingleton, are very proud of their members. Well done once again to these competitors for your dedication, hard work and resilience. You've done both your club and the community proud as representatives of Australia in this global event.
