Milsons Point Post Office Remains Open for Business

—North Shore, we did it! Together, our community has ensured that the Milsons Point Post Office will remain open. When the announcement of its closure was made, it came as a major shock to our community particularly to local small businesses and the approximate 400 seniors living in Greenway social housing who rely on its services. Through strong local advocacy including representations to Transport for NSW, the NSW Minister for Transport, and the Federal Minister for Communications, alongside a community petition and public rallies, Australia Post has reversed its decision. I acknowledge Venietta Slama‑Powell, owner of Bloomingales, whose leadership in organising the petition and rallies showed how vital this post office is to residents. I also recognise Bryce from the Greenway Tenants Union, the Milson Precinct Committee secretary, Michael Bracka, and my federal colleague Zali Steggall and Senator Bragg for their dedicated advocacy and collaboration throughout this campaign. I recognise Transport for NSW's crucial role in entering a commercial term enabling the post office to remain open. This outcome is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when our community comes together to stand up for the services that matter most.
