I acknowledge the outgoing president of Mosman Football Club, Richard Pike, who after six years has stepped down as president at the end of a record-breaking season. The club's premier league first grade team won the league for the first time ever and the reserves claimed back-to-back titles, with the premier league team capping off the season by winning the New South Wales Champion of Champions final in a thrilling penalty shootout. But Mosman FC is not just a club for elite champions; it has more than 1,600 members playing who are between the ages of six—including my daughter—and 65. The smooth running is a testament to Richard and his executive team's work. Everyone—from the newest players and parents, to the coaches and executive team—knows the dedication, commitment and leadership Richard has shown. Richard described mateship as what he liked most about Mosman FC. He said, "It's all about keeping fit, having fun and enjoying the game." That is the essence of community sport. I also recognise new president, David Schmidt, who is a Mosman FC life member and recently served as vice-president. Mosman FC continues to be a pillar of football and sporting culture. I congratulate Richard and wish David good luck.
