Kirribilli Street Festival

—I recognise the community of Kirribilli for bringing Broughton Street alive with the sound of live music and families enjoying an all-day free event of food, music and culture at the inaugural Kirribilli Street Festival. On Saturday, 16 November, the streets of Kirribilli swapped cars for people with the major attraction of the pop-up roller rink in the Burton Street Tunnel. The disco-themed roller rink was a unique opportunity to skate under the Sydney Harbour Bridge – which my kids and I joined in (with just a few bruises to show for it!) I recognise the Sydney Street Choir, Loud and Proud Choir and Neutral Bay's Hummingbird Adult Pop Choir and the Ensemble Theatre who performed, and all the circus, street theatre and live performances. I also acknowledge the stall holders, and Kirribilli's cafes, restaurants and businesses such as Grace of India and Bloomingales who opened their doors and took to the streets with alfresco dining and workshops, truly making Broughton Street alive and welcoming. We loved joining in the festivities as everyone came together to celebrate everything that makes Kirribilli such a vibrant and connected community.
