Christopher Wang Wins Youth Photography Competition

—I am pleased to acknowledge the outstanding achievement of Christopher Wang in winning the 2025 Need a Lift? Youth Photography Competition, an initiative proudly hosted by the Northern Sydney Local Health District as part of Mental Health Month. This year's competition drew almost 200 entries from talented young people across the Northern Sydney area, each reflecting on themes of hope, resilience and mental wellbeing. From this field, Christopher's photograph, titled "World's Great Shave," was awarded the overall prize. His photo of school students shaving their heads for charity, stood out not only for its technical skill, but for its emotional depth and storytelling. Christopher captured a powerful message about courage, connection and the importance of supporting one another - values that sit at the heart of Mental Health Month. I congratulate Christopher on this well-deserved recognition. His achievement reflects both his talent and his willingness to contribute to a broader community dialogue about mental wellbeing. We look forward to seeing how his creative journey continues to develop in the years ahead.
