Balmoral Swim Success

—Every year it is amazing to witness how the community bands together in support of the Children's Cancer Institute through events such as the Balmoral Swim. In its 35th year, the Balmoral Swim saw over 1,500 participants, all contributing toward an ambitious goal of raising $200,000 for vital childhood cancer research. Local schools in my community also played a significant role in fundraising efforts, with top contributors including Queenwood School, St Aloysius' College, Shore, Loreto Kirribilli, Redlands, and Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College. In total, they raised almost $10,000. I would also like to acknowledge the dedicated organising committee, the more than 100 volunteers, and race coordinator David Hoskings, whose efforts ensured the event was both safe and enjoyable for all. Their commitment, along with the support of Mosman Council in promoting accessibility for all-abilities swimmers, highlights the inclusive spirit of this event. Community events like the Balmoral Swim not only promote health and wellbeing but also make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families affected by cancer. I look forward to seeing this wonderful tradition continue to grow in the years ahead.
