Gretel Jones and the Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre

—For more than fifty years, the Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre has been a cornerstone of our community, made possible by the dedication and generosity of countless volunteers. Everything from language classes, a free lending library, art classes, and much more brings all ages together to learn, socialise, and share skills. Today, I am pleased to recognise one of those remarkable individuals, Gretel Jones, whose commitment and service exemplify the spirit of community volunteering. At ninety-four years young, Gretel has volunteered in the Neighbourhood Centre's library for fourteen years, generously giving her time to support residents and help create a welcoming space for everyone who walks through its doors. Her kindness, reliability and enthusiasm have made a lasting contribution to the Centre and to the many people who have benefited from its services. Gretel's dedication reminds us that strong communities are built by people who give back without seeking recognition. I commend Gretel Jones for her outstanding volunteer service and thank her, along with all the volunteers who make the Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre such a valued and enduring community resource.
