1st North Sydney Scouts Vennies Celebrate 100 Years

—I would like to acknowledge and congratulate eight remarkable Venturers from the 1st North Sydney Scout Group on their outstanding achievement in completing 103 kilometres of the Larapinta Trail in Central Australia. Over six days, these dedicated young people traversed five sections of the trail, making their way from Simpsons Gap to Ellery Creek South through some of Australia's most spectacular and challenging landscapes. This accomplishment required determination, resilience, teamwork and an unwavering commitment to seeing the journey through to the end. The Larapinta Trail is renowned for its rugged terrain, extreme conditions and breathtaking scenery, making this feat all the more impressive. The experience not only tested the Venturers physically but also provided invaluable opportunities to develop leadership skills, strengthen friendships and build confidence. These are the very qualities that scouting seeks to foster, and they have been demonstrated admirably by every participant. I would also like to recognise the leaders, volunteers and families whose support, guidance and encouragement made this expedition possible. On behalf of the North Shore community, I congratulate these eight Venturers on an extraordinary accomplishment and wish them every success in their future adventures.
