The community is invited to have their say on the future of Berrys Bay with the release of the draft Berrys Bay master plan by Transport for NSW today.
The community has an exciting opportunity to help shape a fresh vision for this historic Waverton harbourside location.
The Master plan provides a vision to transform the former industrial land of Berrys Bay into community open space after the completion of the Western Harbour Tunnel project.
Berrys Bay is an iconic part of Sydney Harbour, and it is important that the site is returned to the community better than how we found it.
Once complete it will provide the missing link in foreshore access around the peninsula and reconnect the community and visitors to the Bay's histories, foreshore lands and waters.
Our local community has the opportunity to play an active role in the future of the site, by providing local knowledge and feedback.
I’d like to thank all of those who have been involved so far and I look forward to working closely with the community on the final plan for this important site.
Since early 2021, the NSW Government has worked closely with the Berrys Bay Community Stakeholder Working Group, a group of local residents who helped facilitate representation of local interests and expertise, and other key stakeholders to develop the draft master plan.
The Community Values survey was run late last year has received a broad range of feedback including over 700 responses to date.
Two community information sessions will be held on Thursday 13 October 2022 from 4-7pm, and Monday 17 October 2022 from 11am-2pm, and will include representatives from Context Landscape Architects and the Berrys Bay project team to answer questions and take feedback from the community.
