The 2021-22 NSW Budget locks in huge investment in North Shore with big-ticket local education and transport projects funded.

This year’s budget delivers on core election commitments to the people of North Shore including $6.3 billion to progress the Beaches Link and Western Harbour Tunnel, along with a bonanza of education funding for new and upgraded public schools including Neutral Bay Public School and St Leonards’ first ever school.

Member for North Shore Felicity Wilson said the Berejiklian Government’s record investments in education and transport infrastructure across NSW include massive local projects – fulfilling her pledge to our community.

“With over $6 billion funding for the Beaches Link program, the Berejiklian Government is putting its money where its mouth is and following through on our promise to get shovels in the ground on this long sought after project.

“Beaches Link will bust congestion and reduce rat running on our local roads – and early works are already underway on the enabling Warringah Freeway Upgrade.

The Budget is also big news for local students and families with full funding committed for a major upgrade of Neutral Bay Public School and a brand new primary school for St Leonards.

“I made a promise to secure a major upgrade of Neutral Bay Public School and this funding ensures this high performing school will continue to be a great place to learn and grow,“ Ms Wilson said.

“The list of huge investments in our local schools just keeps growing longer – with construction to start in the coming months at Mosman High School, contract procurement underway for North Sydney Dem, Neutral Bay Public School soon to seek development approval, St Leonards primary school fully funded, and a Memorandum of Understanding underway for Sydney Harbour National Park at Middle Head to host a new Environmental Education Centre.

“We are making record investments in public education to support our kids now and into the future.

The Berejiklian Government’s record investments in education and transport are matched with record health investments with $30.2 billion for health care, ensuring the NSW Government can continue its gold standard COVID response and provide world-class health services for the community, including locally at Royal North Shore Hospital.
