Sculpture at Sawmillers Exhibition 2022

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—I want to recognise the Sculpture at Sawmillers Exhibition which returned for its fourth year in 2022. The exhibition was co-ordinated by Cultural Management Consultant and long-time McMahon's Point resident, Elsa Atkin AM who initiated Sculpture at Sawmillers. 58 beautiful sculptures were on display along the foreshore of Sydney Harbour at McMahons Point with pieces from some of the best sculptors in the country, including previous winners of Sculpture By the Sea and local artists Stephen Coburn, Jon Crothers, and Ellenore Griffith. The exhibition was officially opened by the Governor of NSW, Her Excellency the Hon. Margaret Beazley, AC, QC, in February where the winners were announced. I would like to give a special mention to Harrie Fasher, who took home the Major Prize from the exhibit. Thank you, Elsa, for bringing this amazing event to North Shore again. It is a great experience for our community to walk through this exhibition along our amazing waterfront and see works from highly coveted National Artists. I extend my thanks to all contributing artists and people who helped Elsa bring this event to fruition. I look forward to the next Sculpture at Sawmillers.
