New Marine Rescue Base Middle Harbour

—Speaker, I want to acknowledge opening of the new Marine Rescue Middle Harbour base in my local community. It is now fully operational after a major upgrade thanks to the former Liberal Government, who supported and invested in this project. Earlier this month, I was fortunate enough to attend the official opening of the new building. The new base reflects its surroundings, the stunning Middle Harbour shoreline, with the striking design drawing its inspiration from the contours of a ship. The interiors are framed by walls of glass, giving visitors a front-row view of the harbour. The new Marine Rescue Base serves as a token of gratitude to the wonderful volunteers at the Middle Harbour Base, who play a vital role in keeping locals and visitors safe in our waterways. I want to personally thank Unit Commander Peter Steigrad, for his immense contribution to our local community. Sadly, we will soon be saying farewell to Peter at the end of this month. Thank you Peter for all you have done.
