2022 North Sydney Community Awards

—Speaker I want to individually recognise the North Shore locals who have been recognised for their amazing contribution to our area at the 2022 North Sydney Community Awards: Akira Durran was awarded Young Citizen of the Year for her involvement with the First North Sydney Scout Group and Box Divvy. Akira's contribution to the food box program through the Scout group provides responsibly sourced produce to 50 households in the North Sydney area. Surplus produce is then donated to the Greenway Residents Association. As well as Akira's charitable work with the food box program, she has decided to donate her hard-earned money from her job to World Vision. David Bell was awarded Environmental Citizen of the Year for his research work in monitoring the presence of the Rakali in our local area. Thank you David for your scientific contribution to help us understand our local environment better. North Sydney RSL Sub Branch were deservedly awarded Community Group of the Year for all of their amazing proactive work with local ex‑serving and current serving Defence Services men, women and their families. Congratulations to all winners.
