Recognising Jane Besley

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—Speaker I rise to acknowledge local McMahons Point resident and artist, Jane Besley. While many in our local community might not have met Jane, they will know certainly recognise her painting which is a large outdoor artwork depicting a pastoral scene that brings pleasure to everyone who passed her Blues Point Road Studio. Jane describes her work as very eclectic and enjoys painting scenes of everyday life, and natural scenes that usually include grass and dogs. Jane is a self-taught artist who is continually adding to her extensive body of work with a new exhibition of 35 pieces titled Inside Out, that opened at the Ruby Blue Studio on Blues Point Road in April. From a very young age Jane always wanted to draw, and said that it was an escape that brought her great pleasure. I would also like to acknowledge Jane's passion for the local Blues Point community, for adding a little bit more character to our already much loved area. Many might notice there is a new paining in pride of place at 132a, and I am sure locals in my community of North Shore are enjoying Janes excellent new work.
