Lily Gubbay

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore) (19:30:33):

I acknowledge the 2022 North Shore Grandparent of the Year, Lily Gubbay. Many in my local community would know and love Lily through her work with the Cancer Council NSW as a Community Ambassador. Lily has worked tirelessly across our community, raising awareness among others about the real impact of cancer in our everyday lives. She provides support to those who are currently undertaking their cancer journey and to their families. Lily is a survivor of cancer and a grandparent to seven grandchildren. She is also the shared parent of one of those grandchildren. Lily has said that she became an ambassador to make people with cancer aware of all the support available, so they do not have to face cancer isolated and alone. In 2019, Lily was recognised for her work and named the Community Ambassador of the Year. Lily said this demonstrated how the Cancer Council NSW had embraced and empowered her to become a better person and an active volunteer. I congratulate Lily on being recognised as this year's North Shore Grandparent of the Year, and I wish her every success in the future.
