NSW Woman of the Year Finalist Arabella Gibson

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—I want to acknowledge North Shore local Arabella Gibson who was one of the NSW Women of the Year finalists earlier this year. Arabella is the current CEO of Gidget Foundation which is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to support the emotional wellbeing of expectant and new parents to ensure they receive timely, appropriate and specialist care. Since joining Gidget, Arabella has expanded its Gidget House program, offering face-to-face psychology support to cover fourteen sites across three states. Under her leadership Gidget has introduced three new programs providing direct support; Start Talking, Gidget Village, and Gidget Virtual Village, offering a range of support programs for parents experiencing perinatal depression and anxiety. Alongside an amazing six years with the Gidget Foundation, Arabella participated in the advisory group to devise the Australian Government's Women's Health Strategy for 2020 to 2030 in Canberra and contributed to the COVID-19 National Mental Health Strategy for Children, Young People and Parents. I congratulate Arabella on her contributions not only to my local community, but to parents across New South Wales and Australia.
