Bus Services

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore) (22:52:51):

My community relies heavily on an extensive bus network that connects them with the broader Sydney area. Whether it is getting to work or school or simply to run errands, buses are a major part of our community's public transport system, and we need them to be reliable. However, Labor's recent overhaul of bus routes has left many of our residents stranded, with longer commute times, inconvenient transfers and reduced access. Last Monday a raft of bus changes came into effect that were meant to coincide with the opening of the Sydney Metro but, unfortunately, the Sydney Metro City and Southwest line remains unopened due to ongoing union disputes—yet the bus changes were still brought in by this Labor Government. It was not enough for Labor to fail to open Sydney Metro on the date that it set; it has continued to cut our bus services without any transport alternatives.

The recent bus changes to the north and north-west regions include many buses that pass through my local community. Two routes were removed completely: the 200 between Bondi Junction and Gore Hill, which goes via the North Sydney CBD; and the 602X.
