North Shore Locals Shine In Paris Olympics

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—The Olympics stand as one of the most prestigious and revered sporting events in the world, embodying the pinnacle of human athletic achievement. They provide a stage where athletes can showcase their talents and extraordinary feats of strength, speed, skill and endurance. The 2024 Paris Olympics has now come to an end and this was the most successful games in Australian history. Locally in my community we have been represented by four female Olympians and I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge their incredible efforts. Congratulations to Neutral Bay local Michelle Bromley who competed in the team table tennis but was unfortunately knocked out in a match against Chinese Taipei. Congratulations to Mosman local Rowena Meredith, who claimed a bronze medal in Tokyo, finished eighth in Paris as part of the Rowsellas women's quad sculls. A huge congratulations to our entire Australian Olympic team whether they were swimming, running, riding a horse, shooting, diving, cycling or taking part in the myriad of sporting events. We're looking forward to LA 2028 and even more excited when the Olympics will be on home soil in Brisbane in 2032.
